A tiling or tessellation of planes
fit edge to edge to extend indefinitely in two-dimensions.

I make a tessellation of squares -
another of triangles -
another of triangles and squares.

Chance patterns are made by the interaction of clay and flame burning against the surface.
Charcoal - sawdust - wood leave their marks on the surface - flashes of color - black carbon shadows.
Raku pieces glowing yellow-orange are taken from the hot kiln and put into combustibles to burn -
producing new shapes on the clay and glaze surfaces.

Sometimes good - sometimes not so good -
accepting the unknown.
Selecting - ordering chance designs created by fire -
fitting tiles together in tessellations to create larger shapes -
new relationships of form.

Five is the number of regular solids or polyhedra,
only five are possible in three-dimensions:
